Speaking of big trees in Lebanon you will immdeiately think of the cedars.

You are absolutely right, but every rule has an exception.

And the exception here is an oak tree located in Ain Trez, a small village 36 km from Beyrouth in Aley Caza near the village of Reshmaya.

Just to have an idea how big it is just look at the people under the tree

This tree is located in a private property, it is the ownership of ex minister and deputee Fouad el Saad, of course you all remember Presidant Habib Bacha el Saad...

It is well taken care of and some employees look after it day and night preventing any harm for it.

whenever you go there yo will find m3allem Georges or M3allen Elias ready to help you with any information and to welcome you, at one condition : don't harm their beloved tree.

There are supports for the branches so they stay high.

It was a little difficult to photograph the tree while giving a sense of perspective however look at the two story building behind and look at the man under the tree to have a scaling.

Finally this tree offfers an excellent place under its wide trees for social occasions, under this tree branches the atmosphere is always fresh and cool even in the hottest days, up to 700 persons were once under this tree....
